What could you borrow?
An estimate the way lenders work it out: your take-home pay, your spending, your debts and card limits, at the rate plus a 3-point buffer.
Your estimate.
Your numbers
An estimate, not an offer or credit assistance. Lenders verify your income and spending, may use their own living-cost benchmarks, and may assess you differently.
APRA asks lenders to check you could repay at 3 percentage points above your rate.
Lenders count a share of the limit as if you owed it. Closing unused cards helps.
Lenders use whichever is higher: what you spend, or their minimum for a household like yours.
Lenders can make only a limited share of loans at six times income or more, so expect questions.
About the estimate.
Why is it lower than the bank's calculator?
Ours includes the buffer, your card limits and a realistic living cost. Some calculators leave those out until you apply.
Does checking hurt my credit score?
No. This estimate doesn't touch your credit file. A lender's credit check happens only when you apply, with your consent.
Can I borrow more?
Sometimes: a longer term, a partner's income, fewer card limits, or a lender with a different view of your income. We'll show you the options, and the trade-offs.
