Grow it kindly.
Six rules, enforced by volunteer moderators who garden here too. They'll always tell you which rule a removal falls under.
Short, and kept.
Breaking a rule usually gets a removed post and a note. Repeated or serious breaches get an account suspended.
- Be kind, and useful
Answer the question that was asked. Everyone was a beginner once.
- No personal attacks
Disagree with the advice, not the gardener.
- Keep private details out
Yours and other people's: addresses, phone numbers, photos of people who didn't agree to it.
- No selling or advertising
Free swaps are fine; businesses go in the directory.
- No declared weeds in swaps
Selling, swapping or moving a declared noxious weed needs a permit in Victoria. We remove offers.
- Report, don't argue
Use Report on the post. Moderators will tell you what they did and which rule applied.
If a post says something untrue about you.
Every post has a Report button. Complaints that a post is defamatory follow these steps.
- Report the post
Choose "It's untrue and harms my reputation" and tell us exactly which words are untrue and how they harm you.
- We acknowledge it
You get a reference straight away.
- We look at it, and may contact the poster
They can respond. We may remove or hide the post while we decide.
- We tell you what we've done
Within 7 days: whether we've removed or limited access to the post, and why.
Spam, abuse, private information, harmful content.
Anything that puts a child at risk goes to the authorities.

Why do I have to be 16?
Will the person know I reported them?
Can I get a removal reviewed?
