Our story

Grown slowly, in a little greenhouse.

Sprig started on a Brunswick East balcony with a pilea that wouldn't stop having babies. Now it's a small greenhouse behind a roller door on Weston Street, a few potters we love and a lot of paper.

  • Pilea pups
  • Ferns
  • Pots
  • Cuttings
  • Cactus
  • Palms
  • Tonic

What's growing behind the roller door this week. Poke around.

What we believe

Plants should fit your life, not the other way round.

Forgiving plants, honestly described.

We only sell plants we've watched survive real homes. Each one comes with a straight answer about light, water and fuss, so nobody buys a fiddle-leaf fig for a dark hallway.

  • Grown or finished in our own greenhouse
  • Potted a week before it leaves
  • Care advice for as long as you own it

Paper, not plastic.

Plants travel in recycled card, paper and wood wool. Our pots are glazed by a small pottery in Ballarat and our tonic is made in Victoria from seaweed.

  • Plastic-free packaging, compostable at home
  • Nursery pots taken back and reused
  • Local makers wherever we can

Who's in the greenhouse

Three people and a lot of watering cans.

The greenhouse door is open on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Bring a sulking plant and we'll have a look.
