PennsylvaniaA visit is an evaluation, not a promise: a registered practitioner decides, and only the state issues ID cards.
BW·01 Medical cannabis evaluations · Pennsylvania

A fair hearing, by video.

Bellwether connects you with a practitioner registered with Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Program. They read your records, talk with you and decide, honestly, whether certification is right for you.

  • Video visits, allowed under Act 44 of 2021
  • The same fee whatever the decision
  • Help with the state registry afterwards

BW·02 How it works

Five steps, three of us.

Some steps are yours, some are the practitioner's and some only the state can take. Here's who does what.

  1. You

    Register with the state

Create a patient profile in Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Registry with your PA ID. Keep your patient ID number.

  2. You

    Book and send records

Pick a video slot and upload records that show your diagnosis.

  3. Practitioner

    The evaluation

A registered practitioner reviews your records and talks with you. They may certify you, or they may not.

  4. Practitioner

    Certification

If they certify you, the practitioner enters it in the state registry. We email you when it's done.

  5. The state

    Your ID card

You pay the state's annual card fee in the registry; the Commonwealth prints and mails the card.

BW·03 What to bring

Bring the paperwork. We'll read it.

Item 01

Photo ID

A Pennsylvania driver's license or state ID with your current address.

Item 02

Your records

Notes, letters or results that show your diagnosis. Without them a practitioner can't certify.

Item 03

Your medicines

A list of everything you take now, including over-the-counter.

Item 04

Registry ID

The patient ID number from your state profile (step one).

Why we don't promise outcomes. Pennsylvania's Department of Health sets the list of serious medical conditions. A diagnosis on the list is needed, but it isn't enough on its own: the practitioner still decides whether certification is right for you.
No approval promised
BW·04 Fees

The fee is for the visit, not the result.

You pay the same whatever the practitioner decides. No refunds tied to the outcome, no discounts for approval: their judgement shouldn't have a price on it.

Evaluation$129

A 20-minute video visit and a review of your records.

Renewal visit$99

When your certification comes up for renewal.

State ID cardSet by the state

Paid to the Commonwealth in the registry, not to us.

BW·05 Questions

Asked, answered straight.

Will I get a card?
We can't promise that, and nobody honest can. A registered practitioner decides after reading your records and talking with you. If they don't certify you, they'll tell you why in plain words.
Is a video visit allowed in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Since Act 44 of 2021, registered practitioners can certify patients through a live video or phone consultation.
Will the practitioner tell me what to buy?
They'll talk about your condition and your medicines. Product choices are made with the pharmacist at a state-licensed dispensary.
Do you sell cannabis?
No. Bellwether is an evaluation service. Dispensaries are licensed separately by the state.
BW·06 Book

Book a visit, hear it straight.

Video slots six days a week. Have your records ready and your registry ID to hand.
