Baked at four. Gone by two.

Proofroom is the little bakery on the corner of your street. Sourdough, buns and proper coffee, made overnight in small batches by people who would honestly rather be asleep. Come early, or order ahead and we'll hide one for you.

After hours, the oven stays on.

Every Thursday we push the tables together and the bakery becomes the neighbourhood's spare room. Bring a friend. Bring your nan.

Pass 06 · Questions

Asked at the till.

Anything else, ask us in person. We're the floury ones.

Do you have gluten-free bread?

We bake with wheat and rye all night, so we can't promise anything is free of gluten. We do keep a couple of naturally flourless bakes; ask what's on today.

Can I order a birthday cake?

Yes, with three days' notice. Tell us the name, the number of candles and how many sprinkles is too many (there is no such number).

Is the café accessible?

Step-free entry from the side lane, a ramp to the counter and an accessible bathroom. Tell us if anything gets in your way and we'll fix it.

Do you supply other cafés?

For neighbours within walking distance, yes. Drop in on a quiet afternoon and we'll talk bread.

Can I bring my dog?

On the bench out front, always. There's a water bowl and, occasionally, a crust.
