FS·04 Facts, not advice

The law and lower-risk use, on file.

Plain facts for adults 19 and over in British Columbia. For questions about your health, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.

How much can I carry?
Adults may carry up to 30 grams of dried cannabis, or its equivalent in other products, in public. [Check current federal and provincial limits before launch.]
Where can I use it?
Rules differ by province and municipality. In British Columbia, cannabis can't be smoked or vaped where tobacco smoking is banned, or in vehicles. [Check current BC rules before launch.]
Can I drive after using cannabis?
No. Driving while impaired by cannabis is a criminal offence. Wait, plan a ride, or use transit.
How should I store it at home?
In its original child-resistant package, locked away from children and pets. Edibles and beverages can be mistaken for ordinary food and drink.
Where can I learn about lower-risk use?
Canada's Lower-Risk Cannabis Use Guidelines set out practical ways to reduce risk. Ask us for a printed copy in store.
What if someone has taken too much?
Call the BC Drug and Poison Information Centre on 1-800-567-8911, or 911 in an emergency.
