KD·Guide When someone dies

When someone has died.

There's very little that has to happen quickly. Here's what usually needs doing, and when.

KD·02 The first days

Tick things off as you go; this stays on this device only. Nothing here has to be done alone: call us any time.

You can call us at any hour, even just to ask a question. You won't be asked to commit to anything.

If they died at home and it was expected, there's no need to rush. Their doctor needs to confirm the death; then we can come.

KD·03 Questions

Questions people often ask.

Do we have to have a service?

No. Many families choose a cremation without a service and gather later, in their own way.

Is embalming required?

Usually not. We'll only suggest it if there'll be an open coffin after some days, or a long journey.

How soon does the funeral need to be?

Most are within one or two weeks, but there's no fixed rule. Take the time your family needs.

KD·04 Any time

We're here, day and night.

Call (03) 5300 0000. A person will answer, whatever the hour.
