Runs the cropping side of the farm, and the show's guest list. Usually the one asking the follow-up question.
Looks after the cattle and the machinery, and the rain gauge. Reads the listener questions.
Edits each episode, writes the chapters and checks every transcript against the audio.
Sponsors pay. They don't steer.
- Every sponsorship is said to be an ad, and marked in the chapters and the transcript.
- Sponsors never see or approve an episode before it's out.
- We only do host reads for products we use; otherwise it's a produced spot, played as supplied.
- Guests aren't paid to appear, and they don't pay to appear either.
- If a guest has a business interest in what they're talking about, we say so at the start.
Why we label everything. Advertising has to be clearly distinguishable as advertising, and a host read sounds a lot like a recommendation. So we say it out loud, every time.
When we get it wrong.
How do I report a mistake?
Use the contact page and choose 'A correction'. Tell us the episode and roughly when it comes up.
What happens then?
We check it, usually within a week. If we got it wrong, we fix the transcript and show notes, add a note saying what changed, and mention it in the next episode.
Do you edit the audio?
Only for something unsafe or defamatory. Otherwise we leave the audio as it was and add the correction to the notes, so nothing is quietly rewritten.
