WC·03 Statement of Rights
Rights you always have.
The Aged Care Act 2024, in force since 1 November 2025, starts with a Statement of Rights. In short, you have the right to:
- Make your own decisions about your life and your care, with support if you want it.
- Fair access to care, whoever you are and wherever you live.
- Safe, good quality care that respects your culture, identity and history.
- Privacy, and to see the information we keep about you.
- Be spoken to in a way you understand, in your language, and to raise concerns without fear of losing your care.
- Have an advocate and the people who matter to you involved.
