Telehealth for long-term conditions

Time with a doctor, and the whole story heard.

Calder is an Australian telehealth clinic for adults living with long-term conditions. We take the time to understand what you've already tried, work with your GP, and agree a plan with you, which may or may not include a new treatment.

  • First appointments are 40 minutes, by live video
  • A letter to your GP after every appointment
  • No pharmacy, supplier or manufacturer pays us

How it works

Four sections, every time.

No questionnaire decides anything here. A doctor does, with you, in a real appointment.

  1. Book, with your GP's details

A referral helps. With your consent we ask your GP for your records before we meet.

  2. Forty minutes, live

By video, or phone if video won't work. Time for your history and your questions.

  3. A shared decision

All the options, including no change. You can't order a treatment from us, and nobody can.

  4. Follow-up, with your GP

A letter after every appointment, a follow-up booked, and side effects reported to the TGA.

Questions

Before you book.

Do I need a referral?
A referral from your GP is the best start: it tells the doctor your history and lets us write back. If you don't have one, we'll ask your consent to request your records before your first appointment, and the doctor may want to see them before making any decision.
Can I ask for a specific treatment?
You can tell the doctor what you've read and what you'd like to discuss. The decision is clinical, made with you in the appointment, and it can be no new treatment at all. We never prescribe on request.
What if I have a side effect?
Contact us or your GP straight away, or call 000 in an emergency. We record every side effect you report and report it to the TGA.
Will I keep seeing my GP?
Yes. We work alongside your GP, not instead of them, and send a letter after every appointment.
Not for emergencies. Call 000 in an emergency. For health advice any time, call healthdirect on 1800 022 222. In a crisis, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
